Dr. Priscilla Viana is a Principal Environmental Engineer and the In-Situ Amendment and Sediment Capping Community of Practice lead for Arcadis. She serves as a sediment technical expert and peer reviewer for environmental projects both in the U.S. and internationally. Dr. Viana specializes in remediation of contaminated sediments and water quality, providing strategic and technical expertise on sediment capping, in-situ amendment, and ebullition-facilitated NAPL and contaminant transport. Dr. Viana has led remedial investigations, feasibility studies, treatability studies, contaminant fate and transport modeling, sediment capping and in-situ amendment design, and long-term monitoring plans. Ms. Viana’s Ph.D. research focused on reactive capping for remediation of contaminated sediments and ebullition facilitated sediment contaminant transport. She has been author or co-author of over 40 publications, conference presentations, and technical panels. She actively contributes to the development of ASTM standards and was an active member of the Interstate Technology Regulatory Council Board of Advisors (ITRC) Sediment Cap Update Team, contributing to the development of the ITRC Sediment Cap Chemical Isolation Guidance.
