Geosyntec Consultants, Inc.
Andrew Brey is a Senior Geologist at Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. located in Tampa, Florida with more than 27 years of professional experience in environmental site assessment and remedial investigation. He has directed manufactured gas plant (MGP) and chlorinated solvent assessment activities for various clients throughout the United States. In this capacity, project elements have included technical support on groundwater natural attenuation geochemistry and contaminant source forensic identification. His recent primary project experience includes detailed investigation of MGP sites and their NAPL chemistry relating to dissolved-phase groundwater plumes. He has put special emphasis on investigations of deeper (i.e., greater than 100 feet below land surface) impacted carbonate aquifers and their conceptual site models (CSMs) to effectively evaluate remedial options and provide data for cost allocation purposes. For his investigation programs, Mr. Brey has designed and implemented scopes of work that have utilized innovative drillings/sampling techniques, borehole geophysical methods, aquifer pumping tests, oxidant/alcohol push-pull tests, hydrocarbon analytical forensics, isotope geochemistry, and microbiological analyses for complex sites located in various geological settings. Mr. Brey is passionate about mentoring younger environmental professionals and encouraging the testing and development of emerging field assessment techniques.
